IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Technology Resources
An adult or student will need to log attendance daily (or throughout the day for middle school) and students will interact and submit work through Google Classroom. This document includes links to information and videos that will help as well as links to the Indianola school website, school supply list and phone numbers for tech support.
Community Resources
The district's Office of Engagement has worked with many community partners to provide support for families. District updates are released on a weekly basis and previous engagement videos can be found on the district website as well as shorter mini advice sessions.
Learning Extension Centers
Learning Extension Centers provide safe spaces for students to work on online learning with the support of trained community leaders. Locations include community centers and churches in neighborhoods across the city. Library Homework Help Chat
Columbus Metropolitan Library provides learning resources for families and homework help chat M-F 9-4. You can also sign up for a free library card to access ebooks.
Social Emotional Learning and Support
Nationwide Children's Hospital provides these resources and discussion ideas to support students' mental health.
Our District’s school counselors and social workers have pulled together supportive
online resources to help parents navigate these uncertain times, including answers to some very common questions:
▪ How do I talk to my child about fears they may have about COVID-19?
▪ How do I encourage resilience during this and other difficult times?
▪ How do I motivate my child to learn at home?
