Hi Everyone,
It has been a year of changes here at Maria's, and as we welcome another spring we have some very exciting news. Between some overdue building maintenance and some new improvement projects, we have decided it is time for a remodel!
When we’re finished, there will be several notable changes on the sales floor:
Most prominently, the front counter will be entirely rebuilt to help manage the incredible congestion that can back up at the front door. As fun as it may be to literally bump into a friend on the way in the door, imagine a future in which you can walk right in with no jostling required – that’s what we’re shooting for.
We are also going to give our beautiful pine floors their first sanding in the history of Maria’s! It’s going to look great, and don’t worry, it will still creak in all the same places.
Also, in the coming weeks you may notice some noise from the the back office as we make some much-needed changes to the layout and functionality. Don't worry, it's all good things!
The counter, floors and back office construction are just a few of the things on our list. I’ll expand more in my next newsletter, and I’ll leave some as a surprise for when we finish.
Unfortunately, we can’t do all of this while we are open. Between sanding the floors, rebuilding the counter and everything else on the list, we are going to have to close our doors for a little while.
We are targeting early April for this closure, and we expect it to last about 12 days. Of course, there is much we still need to plan before we have our closure all figured out. For now, know that we’ll do everything we can to keep special orders available for pickup, we might even set a temporary shop up elsewhere.
Either way, we’ll definitely have a rip-roaring grand re-opening bash when the remodel is complete.
We will do our best to communicate details of the closure with all of you as we get closer. Stay tuned for more updates, including closure dates, and come track me down to ask more questions.
