Greetings Good People,
Tonight, we vote to bring the Right to Counsel to Jersey City. This will mean so much for our city; "leveling a field" where over 70% of the "players" rent. It's been said that the mere passing of an RTC ordinance can decrease the number of eviction filings by 30%. We're looking forward to saving our city that time and money, and ending the days of innocent tenants having to fight unfair battles alone.
Tonight, we also vote on the city's budget for 2023. Budget presentations took place over the last two weeks. We've uploaded the city's budget documents to a shared Google Drive folder for your review. Click to see how your tax dollars are being spent. I'm happy to report no significant increase this year.
