Too Legit To Quit! 12/13/15

Too Legit To Quit! 12/13/15

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)
10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Please keep our own WILLIE HUGHES in your thoughts and PRAYERS today!!

He was involved in a horrific traffic accident Friday night and undergoes surgery today at ATLANTA HOSPITAL:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

IT'S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!

At this time of the year where our hearts ought to be turned toward Christ and our Savior's Birth, many hearts are also turned and tuned to their pocketbooks.

I, too, well understand this dilemma, having struggled all those years to provide Santa Clause for 4 young-ins AND keep the lights on at home.

After listening sympathetically to a loved one complain of "not having enough money," I heard the distinct Voice of my Lord and Savior REMINDING me AND you:

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)
10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

In the words of an old song:

'"IT IS NO SECRET, WHAT GOD CAN DO!

WHAT HE'S DONE FOR OTHERS HE WILL DO FOR YOU!!!!"

I WELL remember most, if not everything that YOU have done for me!!

And if I, BEING FLESH, am:

"NOT UNRIGHTEOUS TO FORGET YOUR WORK AND LABOUR OF LOVE," can you honestly think/believe that God does?????

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)
10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

If the Lord Jesus, in His time on earth, took careful note of a poor widow's meager offering, how much the same and more YOUR "work and labour of love?"

Mark 12:41-44 (KJV)
41  And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

42  And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

43  And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

44  For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

After all these years of serving Christ, I cannot claim a Master's Degree in Non-verbal complaining, but I AM learning NOT to openly gripe to God and others about "what" God "hath NOT DONE" for me!!!

Most of the time WE complain, WE complain too early!

" GOD MAY NOT COME WHEN WE WANT HIM TO, BUT HE ALWAYS COMES ON TIME!!!"

To quote my SECOND FAVORITE book, THE DISCIPLINES OF LIFE:

''Another handy reason for quitting is just the opposite-we want to quit, not because we think we see something better, but because we see nothing at all;-so, why continue?

Why not throw up the sponge? Well, that depends. Was this thing laid on you to do?

Were your motives sound? Had you a clear right and a clear reason to start it? Very well-what has happened?

Oh, a cloud has settled down and you cannot see?

Well, many a man has never seen the light he needed, or the work he needed, until he entered that cloud and walked through it.

Following faithfully on never leads anyone into permanent darkness. But for the quitter, all he is likely to get is a stronger habit of quitting and a lower place to begin again.

The man who will not give up, even if he fail of his objective, is led through to another objective; the man who hangs on as if he were paid to hang on can always start again at par or better-he has strengthened himself.

''Most of us are where we are for a very good reason.

This is our post which has no one to hold it but us.

If we abandon it, we discover that it is something in ourselves we abandon.

Just keeping on, through the most hopeless aspect of keeping on, may be the important act of one's career.

The last dejected effort often becomes the winning stroke!

After years of observation one is ready to say that most of the people one has seen quit have quit too soon.

Another week; a few more good licks; standing by just a little longer-and the whole situation would have opened into a larger phase.

But, no! they were more practiced in quitting than in staying.

Only recently one saw a man quit in spite of earnest counsel because he couldn't get what he wanted; two days later the very thing he wanted came looking for him, and he wasn't there.

He had quit too soon. It is always too soon to quit.

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)
10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

YOU are "TOO LEGIT TO QUIT" today!!!

Please dwell on this last thought for today:

WHY did Joshua COMMAND of the people as they transversed the walls of Jericho the FIRST SIX TIMES:

Joshua 6:10 (KJV)
10  And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.

SMILE!! Can YOU hear them COMPLAINING,

" This is stupid, this ain't gonna work, it's too hot to march around these stupid walls, I am tired!!??"

" DON'T WAIT FOR THE BATTLE TO END TO SHOUT!

WE KNOW IN THE END WE GONNA WIN!!!!

AMEN AND AMEN!

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY!
