DOC STAMP INCREASE NOW IN EFFECT

Documentary Stamp Tax Increase Takes Effect July 19

As of July 19, 2026, Nebraska's Real Estate Transfer Tax increased from $2.32 to $3.32 per $1,000 of property value.


If you haven't already, update your closing worksheets, net sheets, transaction calculators, and any forms or templates that calculate documentary stamp tax to reflect the new rate for transactions closing after July 19.

We encourage members from all backgrounds, business models, and regions of Nebraska to apply and help move Nebraska REALTORS® forward.
