Loves The Community!

This week with our Tools for Schools Back to school edition there is no better choice for the Supporter Spotlight than Ingles Markets!

Since Robert P. Ingle opened his first store in 1963, Ingles Markets has been committed to the communities in which we serve. This tradition of giving continues at Ingles today.

Ingles community giving is concentrated in the following areas:

· Education of Children
· Eliminating Hunger
· Meeting Specific Community Needs

Not only is Ingles Markets the major sponsor for the supply drive that benefits Eblen Charities they have over the past 20 years, contributed over 19 million dollars to schools in towns where Ingles stores are located.

These dollars have been used for valuable learning tools and equipment. Public schools, private schools and home school associations are welcome to participate in this program, grades K-12. Ingles and our Tools for School program are committed to helping thousands of schools and students achieve their education goals.

"Eblen and Ingles have been working together for years to improve the lives of those less fortunate in our community. We appreciate the dedicated people at Eblen carrying out this wonderful community mission" says Tom Outlaw VP of Sales and Marketing for Ingles Markets.

Ingles involvement with Eblen doesn’t stop with school supplies. You will find them sponsoring Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving which this year will provide 1,200 turkeys with all the trimmings for local families.

In December the Ingles Magical Christmas Toy Drive is a 3 day event to collect toys for the Eblen Charities St. Nicholas Project which will help to make Christmas a little more special for more than 4,000 area children.

“Eblen Charities is blessed to have the support of Ingles Markets. You cannot put a price tag on what they do for the community. It is difficult to think about an event or program that we do that doesn’t partner with Ingles in some fashion” additionally states Susan Riddle of Eblen Charities.

Join us at the Ingles at 29 Tunnel Rd, Wednesday, August 7th for the 11th Annual Ingles Tools for Schools Supply Drive to benefit Eblen Charities. More than fourteen hundred children received school supplies last year thanks to the generous community of people, area businesses and supporters.

The Ingles Tools for Schools Drive is a great opportunity to bring the community together to stand beside the students, teachers, school administration, staff, and parents in helping make sure that students who cannot afford the proper school supplies will have what they need to begin a successful school year.

We would like to thank Ingles Markets for sponsoring the event, hosting us at their 29 Tunnel Road location and providing the tractor trailer to transport all the supplies back to Westgate. WLOS-TV and iHeart Media Asheville for joining us and helping make the day fun, getting the word out for the event and need in our community. And the Asheville Citizen-Times for additional publicity, as we gear up for the annual Tools for Schools Supply Drive in order to give local students the tools they need to succeed during the school year.

We would also like to thank our major supporters, Biltmore Church , Great Beginnings Pediatric Dentistry and Great Smiles , Office Depot/Office Max and Two Men and a Truck for supporting Eblen through the Ingles Tools for Schools Supply Drive.

Many area businesses have already begun collecting school supplies at local churches, offices and even the community pool in Biltmore Park! We would like to thank each of you for your part in helping ensure the children we serve have the supplies they need when school starts back in just a few weeks!

Tools For Schools Distribution Day
The school supplies will be distributed on Wednesday, August 14th at the north end of the Westgate Shopping Center in West Asheville from 9 AM to 4PM.

Families can sign up at the Eblen Charities office now as well as the day of the giveaway.

Students will shop for their own school supplies!
This gives the children an opportunity to come through and pick the supplies they need off their list. It is important for children to feel the same as their peers, starting school with everything they may need.

For the third year, the Ingles Pharmacy in partnership with the Buncombe County Health Department will provide necessary vaccinations for kindergarteners and rising 7th graders. Dr. Drew Schnyder with Family Care Black Mountain/Old Fort will be available to offer health screenings.
If your children are in need of immunizations, please bring health and immunization records, as well as any health insurance information.
