Local community groups support child labor prevention in India
As part of GoodWeave's Child Friendly Communities (CFC) program in the Greater Noida area, several Bal Mitra Suraksha Samiti groups (Child Protection Committees) were formed recently. Government-mandated Child Protection Committees have not been active in this region. By organizing these Committees the communities now have formal structures through which to address risks of child labor, and provide support to children, their parents and community members to ensure education for all children.

Eye care health camp for Nepal weavers
Eye irritation is a common health problem for carpet weavers. To help with this, GoodWeave Certification Nepal and Global Compact Nepal in coordination with Drishti Eye Care System conducted a free eye care health camp for carpet weavers at the end of 2022. Approximately 180 weavers that work for GoodWeave exporter licensees attended the clinic where eye exams, eye drops and spectacles were provided free of cost. Many workers received glasses or were referred for further check-ups. An additional eye care health camp will take place later in 2023.
