Aloha !

For a vegan or vegetarian, finding a Maui restaurant with a decent veggie-based menu used to be a hassle. And nibbling on a house salad each night at dinner becomes a little uninspired.

Fortunately, more and more plant-based menu items are appearing at even the best Maui restaurants. And now, there is a crop of new eateries on Maui that stick solely to vegetarian cuisine – and know how to keep things creative.

Whether you’re vegetarian or just enjoy a hearty, healthy meal, check out our picks for the top vegetarian restaurants on Maui.

That's a Wrap Cafe🌱

Embark on a vegetarian culinary adventure at this health-conscious haven in Kihei, where the magic of flavors dance on your taste buds and nourishes your soul.

The husband and wife team behind That's a Wrap Cafe began the journey as a food truck, and they now operate a brick-and-mortar establishment in Kihei.

The menu includes a variety of nutritious choices such as buddha bowls, vegan poke bowls, acai bowls, wraps (both vegan and meat-filled), and refreshing beverages like kombucha, smoothies, and coffee drinks.

Where To Find That's a Wrap Cafe: That's a Wrap Cafe is located at 2395 S Kihei Rd in the Dolphin Plaza. Open Tuesday-Saturday 9 am to 4 pm. Stay just across the street at Kamaole Nalu.

Earth Aloha Eats 🌎

If you were to glance at the menu at Earth Aloha Eats, you’d wonder, “How on earth is this place vegetarian?” But rest assured; this Maui establishment is 100 percent plant-based.

With offerings like Thai chicken tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, and fish and chips, Earth Aloha Eats is redefining Maui’s veggie eating scene.

With a storefront in Kihei next to Foodland and food trucks in Kahului and Lahaina, you’re never far from Earth Aloha Eats’ ono veggie grinds no matter where you are on the island.

Where To Find Earth Aloha Eats: Earth Aloha Eats’ Kihei storefront is located at 1881 S Kihei Road near Foodland. Open 11 am to 8 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Check out our South Kihei condos nearby.

Moku Roots 🥕

Over on the Lahaina side, Moku Roots is one of the most popular plant-based restaurants on Maui.

All of Moku Roots’ produce is locally grown, which means their ever-changing menu relies on seasonal ingredients. And this funky eatery sure knows how to make plants taste good!

Go for the Loco Moku – a vegetarian take on the classic loco moco, with veggie fried rice served in a pineapple, topped with a taro patty and avocado or a fried egg. We love this!

Moku Roots also boasts a delightful happy hour from 3-5 pm Monday to Saturday, with specials on cocktails and food.

Where To Find Moku Roots: Moku Roots is located at 335 Keawe Street in the Lahaina Gateway Shops next to Ross. Open 10:30 am to 8 pm daily. (Sunday open until 3 pm.)
