FPS Board of Education to hold interviews on June 12 to fill Board vacancy

The Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education will be holding school board candidate interviews on Thursday, June 12, from 4 - 7:15 p.m. All interviews will be held in person at the Maxfield Education Center, 32789 W. 10 Mile Rd., Farmington, in the Board Room and live-streamed on the District's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/fpstv10 


Below is the schedule for the interviews:

  • Clark Doughty 4:15 p.m.
  • James Nolan Munce 4:30 p.m.
  • William Lubaway 4:45 p.m.
  • Wynter Wyrick-Fahoome 5:00 p.m.
  • John Farris 5:15 p.m.
  • Kevin J. Hammer 5:30 p.m.
  • Gwendolyn Brantley 5:45 p.m.
  • Brytani Wright 6:00 p.m.
  • Amber Richmond 6:15 p.m.
  • Ronald Recinto 6:30 p.m.
  • Abid Turpen 6:45 p.m.
  • Hosea Williams 7:00 p.m.

Originally, 16 individuals applied for the vacancy. Two did not meet the eligibility requirements, and one applicant withdrew their application.

Our new canine helper, Lois, has joined the staff at Kenbrook Elementary School

Lois has arrived!! Our new Farmington's Education and Therapy Canine Helpers (FETCH) dog has arrived at Kenbrook Elementary School!! We are so excited to have Lois join Sunny at Warner Middle School and Koda at Forest Elementary School. We look forward to expanding our pack even further in the coming school year as well! Visions Unlimited program receives wonderful spotlight on Channel 7

Last week Channel 7 ran a wonderful spotlight that highlighted our very own Visions Unlimited. Visions Unlimited is our Adult Transition program which serves adults ages 18-26 who have physcial and/or developmental disabilities and students on the autism spectrum. The Visions' staff is dedicated to ensuring the each student reaches their potential as a contributing citizen, productive worker, and community participant. This spotlight shares a story of how Visions Unlimited students work with local businesses.

One of the most heartwarming celebrations each year is the Graduation Ceremony held for the students at Visions Unlimited. This year their ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hawk. We look forward to celebrating all of their accomplishments!

On Sunday, June 8, we celebrated our Farmington High School and North Farmington High School Graduations. If you were not able to attend, you can review the links below.


Superintendent Dr. Kelly Coffin shared the following in her speech to the graduates, "We believe in you and your awesome potential. Stay curious, embrace change, believe in yourself, and go make a difference!"
