District hosts informational breakfast for local senior adults - Thursday, October 17

On Thursday, October 17, we will be holding our annual Senior Adult Breakfast starting at 9 am. at the Costick Center. The Breakfast is an opportunity to share information about the District with more than 200 senior adults. Schools from across the District will have informational tables highlighting a program or project at their school and the high schools will be providing musical performances. We look forward each year to hearing what is on the seniors' minds and answer any questions they may have about the District. This year, we will be honoring Megan Saunders who has been selected as this year's Senior Adult Extraordinaire for her volunteer work at Lanigan Elementary School.

Mrs. Harris's third grade classroom at Gill Elementary School wins Merit Award from Keep Michigan Beautiful


On Friday, October 11, Mrs. Harris's third grade classroom was honored at the Keep Michigan Beautiful Awards Program in Frankenmuth. Their kindness initiative earned a Keep Michigan Beautiful Merit Award. The platform for their kindness initiative was that speaking with and acting out of kindness can change the world into a truly more beautiful place to be!


Congratulations to them and we just love the size of their hearts!!

Farmington African American Parent Network (FAAPN) resumes Saturday tutoring sessions for all students

FAAPN resumed their Super Saturdays Free Tutoring sessions for all students this past Saturday. They kicked off the session with a wonderful pancake breakfast. The free tutoring is open to all FPS students in grades 1-12. The areas that are covered in the tutoring include math, reading/writing comprehension, and vocabulary. The dates through November 2024 are 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, and 11/23. The tutoring is held at Farmington High School from 9-11 a.m.

Survey launched to gain input on qualities, experiences, and skills wanted in next superintendent

Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education is soliciting feedback from all stakeholders on what qualities, experiences, and skills that they would like to see in the District’s next Superintendent. This feedback will strengthen the Board’s selection process. 


These surveys were sent to all families and staff last week and the survey will close on Tuesday, October 22.

Education Foundation's Toast to Education coming up on Friday, November 15

The Farmington/Farmington Hills Toast to Education's biggest fundraiser is coming up on Friday, November 15. Buy your tickets now - you don't want to miss out on this fun event!! All of the money raised at this event goes directly back to support Farmington Public Schools' students through teacher grants.


Volunteers also help to make the Toast to Education a success each year.


Volunteers get free entry to the Toast including a punch ticket for wine/beer tasting for their own personal use. Please sign up below if you would like to be a volunteer!
