New staff members get trained in ALICE, Stop the Bleed, CPR, and First Aid

Recently the District held an all-day training for our new teachers at The Hawk, focusing on ALICE, Stop the Bleed, CPR, and First Aid. We are excited to share that all participating staff members left the training CPR certified!

A special highlight was the involvement of Mrs. Patton, a North Farmington High School teacher, who brought her EMT class to assist in the training. Her students helped demonstrate CPR, the use of AEDs, and Stop the Bleed techniques. This collaborative effort made the day even more impactful and engaging, and we are thrilled to continue this partnership in future trainings.

We also want to express our gratitude to our District nurses, Farmington Public Safety, and the Farmington Hills Police Department for their invaluable support in making this training a success. Together, we are committed to enhancing the safety and preparedness of our entire school community.

Goodfellows Canned Food Drive will run November 1-26 throughout the District

For more than 30 years, the school district has partnered with the Goodfellows for the Annual Canned Food Drive. This year, all school sites will be collecting canned goods for the Goodfellows from November 1-26. If you can help to contribute, please deliver your cans to any school site including the Administration Building at 33000 Freedom Road in Farmington. It truly takes everyone to help with this effort.

The Goodfellows use the canned goods to fill food boxes that are delivered to those in need. This year, the Goodfellows Delivery Day will be on Saturday, December 21. Their mission is that no senior or family goes without celebrating the holidays.

Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education is soliciting feedback from all stakeholders on what qualities, experiences, and skills that they would like to see in the District’s next Superintendent. This feedback will strengthen the Board’s selection process.

These surveys were sent to all families and staff last week and the survey will close on Tuesday, October 22.
