The Farmington African American Parent Network (FAAPN) & the Community Equity Organization are hosting a School Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Farmington Community Library, 32737 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills in the Auditorium.
Five residents have applied for two open seats on the Farmington Public Schools’ Board of Education to be decided on by the voters on Tuesday, November 5. The school board sets policy for the school district while the Superintendent, who is hired by the Board, handles the day-to-day operations of the school district. These five residents are vying for two, six-year-terms.
Voters will select from the following candidates: T.R. Carr, Danielle DePew, Vanessa Gwinn, Thomas Hull, and incumbent Claudia Heinrich. The terms for these seats begin January 2025 and end in 2031.
