The Times They Are A-Changin'

Dear Kiwanis Club Leaders,

As we prepare to transition our club, division, and district leadership teams, I want you to take some time to reflect on the amazing work you have done to serve children and our communities around the Capital District. And remember that it isn't over yet! We have nearly two months left to accomplish our goals, so best wishes as you lead your clubs to a successful year. The best way that you can serve your club as the leadership year ends, is to ensure a smooth transition for your next club board. Please read below for tips.

Keep up the amazing work, and I hope to see you at District Convention!

In Kiwanis Service,

Jennifer Wolff, 2022-23 Governor

Capital District Kiwanis

1. Transitions

Now is the time to ensure a smooth transition for your new club officers.

Report Club Elections Results

Kiwanis Clubs are supposed to report their club election results in the Secretary's Dashboard by June 1. The sooner we have those contacts, the easier it is to get them the proper information and support leading up to the start of their terms.

Board Planning Retreats

Before the year begins, your new club president should hold a board planning retreat. This is an opportunity for your new officers to get together, set goals, plan a calendar, set expectations, create a budget, etc.

View and download the ACE Tools here.

Club Installation Ceremonies

Ensure that your club gets started on the right foot by working with your incoming officers to set a date and plan your "changing of the guard" ceremony.

2. Registration Deadline for DCON!

Don't miss the biggest Capital District event of the year! It will be the cat's pajamas! Learn more.

August 11th – Deadline for online registration for DCON. There will be no on-site registration.

3. Year-in-Review Showcase

We will putting together a "year in review" to showcase the wonderful work that has been done by clubs this year. It will be played at District Convention and released later on social media.

Upload a photo of your club's best project that was completed this year, with the date and a brief description by August 15.

Please click here to upload the photo.

3. Club Leadership Education: DCON and Virtual Options

Virtual Education

Kiwanis is offering levels 100 and 200 classes for each officer position online to ensure that you have the knowledge and resources needed to have a successful year. Even if you are a repeat officer, there are always new things to learn -- please sign up for the 200 level class!
