Pixar Pier Transforms Waterfront in Disney California Adventure Park
|
|
Pixar Pier opened at Disney California Adventure Park on June 23, welcoming beloved stories in incredible new ways. The new land features the thrilling Incredicoaster and Pixar Pal-A-Round attractions, imaginative new neighborhoods, Pixar-inspired food, the Lamplight Lounge, and exciting entertainment. Pixar Pier debuted during Pixar Fest, the limited-time celebration of friendship and beyond that continues through Sept. 3, 2018.
This type of investment in Disney California Adventure has continued since its opening in 2001. By broadening the appeal, guests of all ages have been further immersed in new attractions and shows, such as Cars Land (2012),
Frozen – Live at the Hyperion
(2016), and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! (2017), giving guests compelling reasons to visit again and again.

Happiest Class on Earth Celebrates Second Year with Anaheim Sixth-Graders
|
|
More than 4,500 students from 48 Anaheim elementary schools participated in the second year of Happiest Class on Earth. The program, which will run over a 10-year period, encourages sixth-graders to give back to their schools and communities by completing a service project, earning tickets to visit the Disneyland Resort as a class.
Through their participation in the program this year, students collected cans of food, planted trees and recycled bottles, just to name a few of their efforts.
Assistant Principal Suzanne Nichols from Thomas Edison Elementary School noted, “Because of the hard work and dedication of the students through Happiest Class on Earth, many people have been positively impacted by the community service!”

Minnie Walk at CHOC Children’s Brings Smiles
|
|
Disneyland Resort brought a “mini” version of the CHOC Walk in the Park to CHOC Children’s for patients whose conditions prevent them from participating in the annual fundraising walk at the Disneyland Resort. In its 25th year, the Minnie Walk included Minnie Mouse herself and other Disney characters, games and crafts for the patients to enjoy.
This year, friendship notes were created by Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders to bring cheer to CHOC patients. The notes were displayed along the Minnie Walk route in the Disneyland Resort-sponsored lobby of the hospital.
To register for this year’s CHOC Walk in the Park on August 26, visit chocwalk.org.

I’ve been involved with the
Children’s Bureau
in Orange County for more than 20 years. Children’s Bureau aims to strengthen families and prevent child abuse. Its mission is to protect vulnerable children through prevention, treatment, and advocacy. I first became involved when I attended one of their events and was hooked by the mission. Soon after, I began volunteering, first at their events and later as a board member, and have continued ever since.
Last month, I was honored to chair the annual Children’s Bureau Summer Soiree, a truly inspiring evening celebrating children and the importance of family and community to their future success. With savory cuisine, exclusive auction items, games, dancing and more, it is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Orange County chapter, and this year’s event raised nearly $200,000 to help fund essential programs. In addition, this year the Disneyland Resort was honored for its longstanding support of the Children’s Bureau.
It’s a blessing to have the opportunity to work with such a quality organization with such an important mission. The kids in our communities will grow up to be our next generation of leaders – whether they be teachers, police officers, or Disneyland Resort cast members. With the help of the Children’s Bureau, they are getting the emotional foundation to be successful adults.
I truly appreciate that Disney is so supportive, both of the organization and my board service.
