Blood Drive
The Deacons are sponsoring another blood drive, Tuesday, August 14, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. 
It will be held in The Commons . E-mail Susan by clicking below to sign up. Deacons will donate $5 for each donor to CROSS ministries.

VBS Recap and Fall Programming
What an exciting time we had on “The ride of a lifetime with God” at Rolling River Rampage VBS this summer! Our team of River Guides consisted of 35 adults and youth working directly with 72 children over the course of the week.

Book Club to Read  Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
You are invited to join the Westminster Book Club in September for discussion of the book Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine  by Gail Honeyman. The Book Club will discuss it on Wednesday, September 5, at 6:30 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. 
Bus Drivers Needed
Westminster Church is in need of volunteers to add to our bus driver rotation that picks up members for Sunday worship. A C.D.L. license is not required. To sign up, please contact Susan.
Summer Choir
If you're in 2nd grade or older you're invited to join the Summer Choir! Arrive at 9:05 a.m. in the Sanctuary to rehearse before worship.
The "Wiggle Room"
The Wiggle Room transforms our Narthex into a space where families can enjoy the service while providing their children with a bit of “wiggle room” t o explore and play quietly during worship.
Friday Office Hours
The office closes at noon on Fridays, now through Labor Day weekend.

  • to Justin and Hannah (Paczkowski) Miller on the birth of their son, Gordon Kenneth Miller on August 5. He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz. and was 19 inches long at birth. Pastor Scott and Jill are very excited to be grandparents!

Group Information
Westminster is a fairly large church with nearly 1100 members. Small groups help bring the church down to a manageable size. We have numerous groups that bring together folks with similar interests. 

If you have any updates to this list, or questions about any of these groups, please contact Joan at 274-1534.
Pizza Lovers' Group meets the second Tuesday of the month.
Their next meeting is August 14, at 5:15 p.m., at Godfather's on University.
Men's Group meets each Wednesday for breakfast at 
6:30 a.m., at the Waveland Cafe. During the summer they also meet the third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. for dinner at the Windsor Heights Hy-Vee. Their next dinner is August 15.
Stitchin’ Time will meet Thursday, August 23, at 1:00 p.m. in Hope Alcove. Bring your knitting, crocheting or sewing, and
join us!
Afternoon Bridge will meet Thursday, August 23, at 1:00 p.m. in Simmerman Lounge. R.S.V.P. to 274-1534 if you'd like to join in!
Restaurant Group 1 will meet Saturday, September 1 at 5:15 p.m. at Maxie's Restaurant, 1311 Grand Ave. All are welcome to join us! Call the office at 274-1534 to make reservations.
Restaurant Group 2 meets the third Saturday of the month.
Their next gathering is being planned.
The Gay-Lesbian-Straight Affirmation Group's next meeting will be in September.
Men’s Basketball meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in The Commons.
