February features some of our favorite winter festivals and events – from family-friendly fun to unique happenings in Lake Erie Wine Country and beyond.

One of the highlights of the year, the annual Mayville Winterfest offers music, food, fireworks, a craft show, 5K, and an ice castle (weather permitting) on the shores of Chautauqua Lake. More events will take place throughout the village, Feb. 13-15.

Chautauqua Harbor Hotel’s Fire and Ice Celebration promises thrills and chills with over 40,000 pounds of ice carved into breathtaking ice sculptures, martini luges, and even bars, Feb. 12-14. Warm up at roaring fire pits or indoors with music and food. Finish the night with an amazing fireworks display. Book an overnight package.

Enjoy the perfect winter afternoon at Northwest Arena in Jamestown with family fun featuring public skating and ice bumper cars. Check the schedule at the Northwest Arena website.

Winter weekends at picturesque Chautauqua Institution provide sleigh and wagon rides where you will take a scenic route around the National Historic District campus along Chautauqua Lake.

Stretch your legs and run through beautiful country settings during the Frozen 50K in Cassadaga on Feb. 7, and the Winter 5K series on the shores of Chautauqua Lake, or take a Winter Walk at Long Point State Park where you will identify wildlife tracks and signs on Jan. 31.

The New York Musky Expo returns to the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, with electronics, apparel, gear, kids’ corner, live music, and more.
