RECRUITMENT, RECRUITMENT, RECRUITMENT!
Recruitment season began in earnest with the visitation of our first group of prospective parents this past Wednesday. Torah High will be having its seventeenth annual Open House (Can you believe it? Seventeenth?) on Tuesday, November 4th, from 12:00 - 3:30 p.m. as we host the 8th grade girls from the Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School. The following week on Monday, November 10th, we will host the 8th grade girls from the Chabad Hebrew Academy from 12:00 - 3:00. Prospective students will have an opportunity to tour our beautiful campus, meet our outstanding faculty, sit in on advanced classes, participate in interactive activities with Torah High students, and, of course, enjoy a delicious lunch. Please help spread the word of the wonderful treasure in our community. Did you know that 90% of our graduates continue their Torah education in Israel after high school? Or that Torah High's average SAT scores, percent of students in grades 10-12 taking AP tests, and AP passage rate, rank it among the top high schools in San Diego? Or that our graduates have consistently been accepted into the finest seminaries (Bnos Sarah, Michlalah, Darkei Binah, MMY, Moreshet, etc.) and universities (Yale, Barnard, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, UCLA, UCSD, UC Berkeley, McGill, Stern College, etc.) in the world? Or that over 70% of our graduates have attended one of the top 50 colleges in the United States? Most importantly, are the incredible young women Torah High produces year in and year out. Special thanks to Rabbi Yosef Fradkin and Rabbi Meir Cohen for arranging for the 8th grade girls from the Chabad Hebrew Academy and Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School to visit. Please encourage your friends to come visit and get to know Torah High first hand. To know us is to love us.

598 and Counting!
How do we reach our goal of signing up 1000 people? How do we successfully raise much needed funds for the school without costing anyone any money? We need your help to spread the word to all of your friends, relatives, neighbors, etc. of the easy way to help Torah High. It really is the easiest way to help raise vital funds for Torah High. All we need is the information below. Thank you very much!!!

PTA UPDATE
We encourage all parents to join our pta. There are no new members this week and we would love to add your names to the list next week. Bronze through Platinum are equally welcome! We had our first pizza Sunday. The pizza was delicious, from Nagila in L.A. We thank those who helped with this fundraiser, from our driver to callers, organizers, and last-minute problem solvers. Look for our next pizza day later in November. If you are traveling to L.A. and returning on a Sunday, please contact Judy Kelin, 858-279-2914, if you may be able to be our pickup person and volunteer. This can be a one-time thing or each month. Send in your toner cartridges, please. We recycle them for cash on an ongoing basis. Remember to call in your sponsorships: Popcorn Friday, just $10, $40 for the month. Have a great Shabbas!

A FITTING TRIBUTE
It was an inspiring and moving evening, as Congregation Beth Jacob remembered and paid tribute to Mr. Al Adatto, zt"l. A stunning hand-crafted shulchan (pictured) was donated to Beth Jacob by Mrs. Ethel Adatto (beloved former secular principal of Torah High), Rob and Lise Adatto, and family. The evening featured emotional and powerful remembrances from (in order of appearance) Rabbi David Adatto, Rabbi Eliezer Langer, Rabbi Avram Bogopulsky, Mrs. Ethel Adatto, and Mr. Rob Adatto. Mr. Rob Adatto captivated the audience with the tale of the incredible hashgacha pratis (Divine Providence) in building the beautiful shulchan (we are afraid we will not do justice in retelling the story - suffice it to say that a rare and obscure part was needed to complete the project. It miraculously appeared having been "accidentally" spilled from a small container of odds and ends left over from the workshop of Mr. Al Adatto, zt"l). May the memory of this great man be an inspiration to us all.
