Papercuts are a traditional Jewish folk art dating back as far as the 14th century. Their designs are often very intricate and exhibit great skill from the artisan. The papercuts at B’nai Jehudah range in age from the 18th-21st centuries. This papercut from renowned artist Yehudit Shadur is from 1979. Be sure to visit B’nai Jehudah from Dec 2-4 to see papercuts inspired by pop culture and learn from our visiting scholar-and-artist team, Paper Midrash!
