Ontario Virtual Torch Run - Starts May 3rd!
In 2020, when in-person Torch Runs could not be held, Torch Runners made a pivot and the Global Virtual Torch Run was born! Last September, Torch Runners and Special Olympics supporters all over Ontario took to the streets, sidewalks, trails, water and whatever other surface could be found to support the athletes of Special Olympics Ontario virtually!

Fast forward to 2021, and even though the Global Virtual Torch Run isn't being held this year, Torch Run Ontario is back with the 2021 Ontario Virtual Torch Run!

The 2021 Ontario Virtual Torch Run launches May 3rd and runs for 34 days (to celebrate 34 years of Torch Run in Ontario!). The virtual run culminates on June 5th, which is also National Health & Fitness Day!

Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week & National Police Week
Torch Run Ontario is very excited to be celebrating Correctional Services Staff Recognition Week (May 3-7) & National Police Week (May 9-15) again this year by highlighting some of our great LETR members!

2021 Torch Run Shirts
The 2021 Torch Run shirts (as seen in the photo above) are now available! Orders for your service/detachment/facility can be sent now to Brock Robinson (brockr@torchrunontario.com).

For anyone not attached to a department/service, shirts will be available for individual ordering during the Ontario Virtual Torch Run. A $5 charge will be added to individual orders to cover the cost of shipping.

Sizes are unisex and range from XS to 3XL.
SOO Virtual Volunteer Conference
Special Olympics Ontario is pleased to announce that we will be holding a month-long Virtual Conference which kicked off this past Saturday, and runs until Thursday, May 20th.

The kickoff event on Saturday included addresses from Vic Rauter (TSN), Taje Mohabir (SOO Chair of the Board) and Glenn MacDonell (SOO President & CEO). The program also included a Year In Review of the exciting things that have been happening virtually with SOO and LETR over the past twelve months. The kickoff program video is included above.

The conference features a wide range of sessions from sport, fundraising, health, partner engagement, social events and more!
