I was a bit scared to present at my community action team meeting but as friendly faces like family, friends, and community connections joined me at CROYA (Community Representing our Young Adults) in Lake Forest, my nerves settled and I was excited! I shared my Living Resume PowerPoint, which highlighted my strengths, skills and ideal work conditions. Everyone seemed very impressed with me and laughed at my jokes, which felt pretty good. We brainstormed job ideas from my vocational themes of clerical, health and wellness, and light cleaning. After, I was proud of myself because I made it through the whole meeting. I would LOVE to find a job a setting that is 'spiritual' in nature like a healing center or yoga studio. I will update everyone once I find a job. In the meantime, if you have job ideas or people that it would be helpful for me to connect with, please contact my employment specialist, Emily Raming, at or (224) 412-4718.
