Period Furniture Subgroup
December 7 Meeting
Period furniture's next meeting will be on Saturday Dec. 7, 2019.
We will be meeting again at Steve Belair's shop. - 124 Pond View Auburn NH.
Meeting begins at 9 AM and concludes at noon. There are some chairs but if you have a favorite bring it along.
During the Nov 9th meeting our builder's demonstrated their preferable technique for the shaping of a cabriolet leg. Hand tools win in this process. The prospect of doing it with CNC was floated a couple of times with accompanying laughter of course. We had a surprise visit from Tom McLaughlin. Great day and great meeting!
The next meeting will largely be about the turning and fitting of the stretchers for the chair legs.
It is not too late to start your own chair if you missed the first couple of "build" meetings on this project. There is huge amounts of information available on our GNHW website about every step except finishing and upholstery. That will probably develop in the future. There is also plenty of able and willing people to help get you going. Come learn with us.

We are moving our membership card batch dates to a quarterly schedule. The next member card batch will be January 1. Renew early to be included.
