Praying for your child’s gifts
Pastor Dan’s message in worship on Sunday, October 3 focused on how we use our gifts to serve God and others. God has equipped us with the gifts we need to do His will. As parents, we need to ask God to help us identify and appreciate the gifts He has given to our children. It is easy for our children to compare themselves to their siblings and classmates. This type of comparison can lead to feelings of disappointment and jealousy. You can use the following Bible verses to guide your time in prayer as you pray for and with your children.
Let _______ use his/her gifts to serve others, faithfully administering your grace in its various forms, so that in all things you will be praised and receive glory.
1 Peter 4:10-11
Show _______ how to use her/his gifts and talents wisely, being faithful with the abilities you have given her/him.
Thank you for the special gift you have given _______. SHow him/her how his/her gift differs from the gifts you have given others, and let him/her be generous, diligent, and cheerful in using it.
As _______ considers his/her gifts, cause him/her to lean not on his/her own understanding, but acknowledge you in all his/her ways, so that you - the One who created and gifted him/her - will make his/her paths straight.
