"I was born to run! I ran along the ocean beaches in New York and felt the wind in my hair. I ran in the deserts and high mountains in New Mexico and felt the wind behind my back. I ran in two world Olympics and felt the wind under my feet as I set national and world records in track and field. When times get rough, the tough get going and I felt the wind pushing against me, but I kept on going. There is a spirit in the wind and I call my friend, Spirit Winds! All my paintings are whimsical in nature like the wind that swirls around all of us! The next time you make your wonderful quilt create something like the colors of the wind soaring like an eagle in the sky! ~ George Mendoza
