Due to delayed construction we are now able to bike on Shorewood Drive!

Restrooms

Restrooms are available at Detroit Lakes High School. There are no event specific bathrooms on the routes; unless you decide to stop at a park or public restroom location(s).

Water

Upon registration you will receive a FREE commemorative 2025 Tour Da Lakes water bottle courtesy of DL Bike Shop. However, feel free to bring your own as well. We will have water to fill up your bottles before and after the ride.

  • Detroit Lake (12 mile) route will NOT have a water stop, but will have plenty of water at the finish line to rehydrate.
  • We will have a self-serve water stop at mile 14.5 (Lake Sallie Turnaround) and 22 (for the Lake Melissa loop).

Please be aware of other bike traffic and bring your bike to the side of the road if you decide to stop for water. We do not want to create a traffic jam of bikes blocking the roadway if others decide to keep riding.

Safety Tips

  • Safety First! Helmets are required for all riders!
  • All routes will be on paved roads / paths, but this is an open course and there will be times that you may have to cross traffic; please slow down in those areas and follow the rules of the road.
  • There will be volunteers at a few of the busy spots. Please thank all of the volunteers! Always keep to the right, follow the WHITE ARROWS on the road. Directional signs will be at all turns. This is an open course and no road closures so be aware of your surroundings at all times to keep yourself and others around you safe.
  • Sallie and Melissa Participants: You will be riding through Dunton Locks County Park. With the popularity of the new “Trolls in DL” this area is busy with walkers. Volunteers will remind walkers to stay to the side, but you still need to slow down in this 1 mile stretch. Keep an eye out as you may get a glimpse of a troll too! 😊
  • Sallie and Melissa Participants: Please use extra caution near the new building at Dunton Locks County Park. The route includes a sharp and blind turn around the building near the parking lot. Slow down, stay alert, and watch for other riders and pedestrians in this area.
  • If you experience mechanical issues while out on the course and cannot keep riding, please call James at 701.893.6589 to get a ride back to the finish line.
