Louisiana Architecture Foundation Announces Tour of Modern Homes in New Iberia
NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Louisiana Architecture Foundation (LAF), is excited to partner with the Iberia Cultural Resources Association (ICRA) and the Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, to showcase a great selection of modern-styled homes in New Iberia, La.

The tour will highlight the mid 50s to late 60s in exterior architecture design. The self-guided tour takes place Sat., June 1, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Seven sites will be open to tour including six open homes and a modern-styled church. This tour serves as a fundraiser to support both the LAF and ICRA.

Ticket prices:
  • Tickets purchased online $30 ($25 members of LAF and ICRA)
  • Day of Purchase $35 ($30 members of LAF/ICRA)
  • Tour Tickets + VIP reception $55 ($50 members of LAF/ICRA). VIP reception will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at one of the unique homes on tour.

Tickets can be purchased online at LouisianaArchitecture.org/Events or in person at Bayou Teche Museum starting May 23 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during normal museum hours. The museum will also serve as ticket headquarters for check-in for attendees and to purchase “day of” tickets.

“We think that the Modern Tour of Homes in New Iberia will showcase unique hidden gems from the standpoints of both architecture and interiors,” says ICRA president Cathy Indest. "In addition, if the individual enjoys great food, the VIP Reception featuring ‘Lagniappe Too’ delicacies should not be missed!”

On Friday, May 31 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (2514 Old Jeanerette Rd., New Iberia), there will be a panel discussion on New Iberia modernism with local architects and designers in the field. The panel discussion is free and open to the public followed by light refreshments.
