This week, we bring you the second installment of our new tour-sponsor spotlight, featuring Sam Lightner.

Sam Lightner is a published author, writing about his travels and climbing experience, and is also a history buff. You can learn more about Sam and view his blog on his website.

Sam created, wrote, and narrated the two Wyoming tours he has on the TravelStorys™ mobile audio tour platform: Roads Through Wyoming: I-80 and Roads Through Wyoming: US-287. In both, Sam shares his incredible knowledge and love for his home state of Wyoming. These are premium tours available for a one-time $9.99 purchase.

Here's what Sam had to say about his tour-building experiences:

Q: What is your favorite story from your tours and why?

A: I love talking about Chief Washakie. He is one of the most impressive people I have ever found in any time or place in history. You can't overstate his greatness.

Q: Is there anything that surprises visitors about the tours?

A: People are always surprised at how Wyoming, with only 500,000 residents, connects to all of the biggest events in western United States history.

Q: Please briefly describe your target audience for these tours.

A: I'm trying to get both people who are driving across the country and want to break the monotony, as well as people who are going on vacation in Wyoming and want to learn more. I have tours that cover both.

Q: Why did you want to tell the stories on your tours?

A: Wyoming has amazing history. People are shocked by how much influence we have had on the USA.

Q: How does telling your stories through the TravelStorys audio tour platform compare to other ways you've communicated with your audience in the past?

A: I think the listener feels more engaged with the actual voice of the author.

Q: What part of the tour-building process do you enjoy most or find most interesting?

A: Research. I love doing the research.
