Judging of the 71 nominations for the 2023 New York State Tourism Excellence Awards has begun! 2023 Honorees will be notified in July and will be recognized during a special ceremony at the Strong National Museum of Play during the 2023 NYSTIA Annual Meeting hosted in Rochester on September 13-15!

After the ceremony, attendees are invited to join us for a reception and "NYSTIA Game Night" at the Museum! Enjoy delicious food and drinks, and let your competitive side loose in pursuit of a 'high score' as we celebrate the achievements of our peers at New York's newest 'transformational' destination!

National Comedy Center Becomes Home to Joan Rivers' Comedy Archive

On the 90th birthday of the late comedy icon Joan Rivers, her daughter Melissa Rivers announced that the National Comedy Center, the United States’ official cultural institution dedicated to the art form of comedy, will become the home of Joan Rivers’ career archive including a file cabinet containing over 65,000 original jokes spanning from the start of her career in the 1950s to 2014 when she passed away.

Erie Canal Learning Hub Launched

The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the New York State Canal Corporation are pleased to announce the launch of a new educational initiative, the Erie Canal Learning Hub. The Hub provides free curriculum resources, field trips, virtual 3D tours, and other online tools for teachers and students who are learning about the Erie Canal.
