Headwaters Tourism launches 2018 "Made BY and FOR Visitors" campaign
Business owners, tourism champions and some four-legged friends headed to Toronto earlier this month to launch Headwaters Tourism's 2018 marketing campaign.
The 2018 edition of the award-winning Headwaters Four-Season Visitors' Guide is a "MADE BY & FOR VISITORS" Guide and is the anchor for this year's user-generated content campaign. It features over 80 images and comments about the area from visitors from across Ontario, Canada and as far away as Italy, who are singing the region's praises and telling us what they love to experience in Headwaters. 
Celebrating National Tourism Week in Headwaters
May 27th to June 2nd, 2018

Representatives from Headwaters Tourism took part in flag raising ceremonies in the Towns of Caledon, Mono and Shelburne to bring attention the economic impact and social benefits of tourism in our communities. Proclamations were also issued by municipalities across the region declaring May 27th to June 2nd, 2018 Tourism Week in Headwaters, part of national Tourism Week in Canada initiatives that highlight how Canada's tourism industry contributes to the standard of living and quality of life of all Canadians.

EQUUS Canada Film Festival - exclusive Canadian tour stop!
For 2018 Headwaters Tourism is proud to announce that the Headwaters region of Ontario will be the first and only Canadian stop of the highly acclaimed EQUUS Film Festival. For three days in July 2018, the historic Town Hall Opera House in downtown Orangeville will serve as the mainstage venue for 19 films from across the world, celebrating the horse and the art of film-making.

Pommies Cider Co. and Heartwood Farm & Cidery receive international honours 

The Great Lakes Cider & Perry Association announced official results for the 13th Annual Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition (GLINTCAP) - held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on May 16-19, 2018. Pommies Cider Co. earned one gold & three bronze medals and Heartwood Farm & Cidery earned three bronze medals.

PGA Tour coming to Osprey Valley this July - CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Expedia names Caledon as one of top honeymoon destinations in the world 
The Travel site has named Caledon as one of its "Top Honeymoon Destinations in the World."  Caledon, the article says, "is one of those perfect hidden gems, with a ton of bed and breakfasts, farmers markets, cycling trails, and cideries."   
Town of Caledon receives Bike Friendly Community status   
The Town of Caledon was awarded a bronze level designation, as a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) by Share the Road Cycling Coalition (STRCC) at the 10th Annual Ontario Bike Summit Awards on April 17, 2018.

Electric vehicle charging station coming to downtown Orangeville  
The Town of Orangeville will soon have an electric vehicle charging station in the downtown business district. Orangeville Council voted in favour of the purchase and installation of a dual electric vehicle charger in the municipal parking lot at 86 Broadway.

Funding is available to small- and medium-sized businesses with projects that contribute measurable reductions to greenhouse gas pollution in buildings and the production of goods.
2018 Tourism Town Hall Series 
TIAC's 2018 Tourism Town Hall series is an event partnership between the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Destination Canada and local industry partners. Tourism Town Halls provide an opportunity to engage small and medium-sized business owner operators across Canada to better understand efforts being made on national tourism issues.
Funding for creative hubs 
The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund has released new application guidelines for support to creative hubs. Canadian creative talent will have access to spaces where they can build their entrepreneurial skills, create, collaborate and innovate, and help generate new markets for Canadian creativity in all its forms

Headwaters Inspired: arts & culture project
Understanding the impact of arts and culture on our community, Dufferin County, the Town of Caledon and the Town of Erin are funding a project to develop an arts and culture framework in Headwaters.  The project will be managed and executed by Headwaters Tourism.

Call for participation:  We encourage all artisans, arts and culture businesses and organizations, and all heritage groups to help us build a robust database, by adding your information for inclusion in the database. This database of arts and culture assets will give exposure to each individual artist, group and business in our region and, when viewed as collective, will serve to raise the profile of the entire region as a destination for arts, culture and heritage.
