TOURISM INDUSTRY NEWS & RESOURCES
This partner communication exists to provide updates on Sonoma County Tourism’s programs and offerings, along with additional news and resources to support Sonoma County’s tourism and hospitality industry.
January 25, 2023
We’ve been touting it for a long while, but the newly launched Sonoma County “Life opens Up” app (available on both IOS and Android app stores) is an ideal way for both visitors and locals to experience the best Sonoma County has to offer. Through options to See and Do, Eat and Drink, Outdoors, Experiences, Events and Places to Stay, all categorized by city, users can find a wealth of opportunities for enjoying the region. But, that’s just the start of the great features. Users can set up their own plans or itineraries that help ensure the activities are customized. The itinerary can then be shared, enabling friends and family to help curate the plan.

Real app users can also complete Goals. Here users can enable auto check-ins, gain badges for various activities such as the 3 Day Wine Tasting Streak, Park Enthusiast, and Relax and Renew. It’s an incredible app that provides not only an enormous amount of information, but amplifies loyalty through the ways people can interact with the programs. I’d encourage all partners to ensure their property is included in the app offerings. The app is getting fantastic usage and will soon be one of the top marketing channels for all things Sonoma County. Check it out!

Thanks!

Please take a few minutes to complete the 2023 Sonoma County Workforce Development Survey (WDS). The survey is sponsored by the Sonoma County Economic Development Board and Workforce Investment Board.

The WDS is intended to gain an insight and understanding of the training needs that will be required for the incoming workforce over the next few years. The data gathered by the survey will help local development and workforce boards in collaborating their efforts with other agencies and organizations to help build a foundation to upskill the Sonoma County community through the consideration of the results.

Extended Stay Promotion
As a tactic to increase length of stays and midweek business during our November- April campaign period, we are asking our lodging partners to participate in our annual Extended Stay Promotion. Your property can construct your own terms and conditions, including blackout dates, restrictions, and how you want to structure the deal. We will link over to your preferred booking site to drive direct, non-commission bookings.

Sonoma County Tourism has created a special landing page on sonomacounty.com to feature each participating property with a picture, brief copy, and link to your preferred booking site. To promote this, SCT will also leverage social media, public relations, and paid media (advertising) to drive traffic back to the landing page.
