Washburn County Tourism Industry News

It's safe to say that the beginning of season has arrived! The visitor center has been flooded with people today looking to get out and explore our beautiful area. We're in high gear preparing for our peak season visitors, wrapping up our spring projects and believe it or not, looking forward to late summer and fall marketing.

Keeping this short & sweet this time around as we know you're all busy, just a reminder to get us brochures and check your listings to make sure our team has the most accurate information to provide our visitors. We've begun stocking the information racks at the Highway 53/Veterans' Memorial Wayside just south of Spooner, so make sure we have your materials so we can keep it filled.

Our new mural at the visitor center, the new "Visit WashCo Mural", is nearly complete. Local artist, Blain Churchill, should be finishing up in the next week or so. We'd encourage you to stop in and see the fun, fresh changes at the visitor center.

Lastly, we'd like to give a huge shout out to Round Man Brewing Co. on receiving the 2019 Washburn County Tourism Business of the Year award at the Washburn County Economic Development Corporation's Annual Banquet. Congratulations to all of the amazing nominees - it was a very close competition this year!

Cheers to a great season, folks. Keep in touch!

We have a new spinning wheel at the visitor center for our visitors to "spin to win" prizes from tourism and our local businesses. The trivia questions are all fun, educational questions about the amazing things our area has to offer. If you have any promotional/giveaway items that you would like handed out as prizes, please drop them off to the visitor center or give us a call and we'd be glad to come pick them up. For questions or to arrange for us to pick up some prizes, call 715-635-9696 and ask for Kaitlin. Thanks!
