Visit High Point can use some extra hands in the Visitor Center assisting furniture shoppers, designers, visitors, meetings, events and our staff. If you know of someone who is a natural ambassador for High Point, please pass along this immediate opportunity.
Visitor Information Specialist I - Individuals must be able to assist visitors with information on events, area attractions, furniture shopping, and overall visitor-friendly experiences.

Thank You And Congratulations Councilman Britt Moore For Completing IBCCES Autism Certification
Councilman Britt Moore successfully completed Autism Certified Training through IBCCES. This is part of a city-wide initiative to become the first CAD (Certified Autism Destination) in North Carolina and on the East Coast. Q's Corner and Visit High Point both have earned the CAC (Certified Autism Center) designation and we look forward to getting our hospitality partners and city entities on board.

High Point University Announces Major Growth
High Point University President Nido Qubein announced that a $400 million academic expansion is set to be completed by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, HPU's Centennial Anniversary. In addition to the School of Dental Medicine and Oral Health, HPU will be establishing a School of Law, School of Optometry, School of Nursing and a School of Entrepreneurship. HPU will also be creating a hub for health care education and will invest $115 million in student life facilities - including new student houses, campus cottages, a parking garage and the Panther Commons Facility.

American Home Furnishings Hall Of Fame Promotes Karen McNeill To Chief Vision Officer
The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation has promoted its CEO Karen McNeill to the additional position of Chief Vision Officer. In this role, she will be focusing on new opportunities for the Hall of Fame, expanding educational events and building the Leadership Initiative. With Karen moving into this new position, a search has been launched for a new CEO for the Hall of Fame.

Help Us Welcome Four New High Point Rockers Staff Members!
The High Point Rockers have grown their front office staff with the addition of four recent hires, to help the team prepare for the 2022 season! Sherrie Poplin has been hired as the Rockers new business manager, J.P. Rooney is the new ticket sales account executive, Alicia Marcotte will be the coordinator of promotions and fan experience, and Alex Mendenhall will be the coordinator of special events.

Voting Open Through April 17th
The "Nomination Period" is over where you wrote in all your favorites. The votes were tallied and the top 3-5 vote getters in each category have now been listed as a finalist! These are the ones that will be the Winners and Runner-Ups for Triad's Best 2022. Go through the categories and vote for your High Point favorites and remember you can vote once per day!

HiToms Hosting Crescent Ford Prep Baseball Classic
Saturday, March 12th | Historic Finch Field
7003 Ballpark Road | Thomasville, NC
The High Point-Thomasville HiToms and Crescent Ford will be hosting the best Triad prep baseball teams this Saturday at Historic Finch Field. Perennial state powers Northern Guilford and Uwharrie Charter launch the tripleheader at 10:30am while greater High Point area kingpin Southwest Guilford takes on Rowan County conference leader champion Ledford High School and upstart Trinity High School. Tickets are available at the Finch Field box office.

Oh Say Can You Sing? Audition for the chance to sing the National Anthem before a Rockers game this season! Performances are not limited to just singers, and you can perform individually or with a group! If you wish to audition, e-mail Alicia Marcotte with the following information:

In keeping with the Veterans Administration designation of March as Women's History Month, the Heroes Center proudly announces, A Salute To Women Veterans. Celebrate the accomplishments of female veterans with a full female color guard, special music and presentations from female veterans and community leaders. Refreshments will be provided by Pepper Moon Catering.
