Conclusion of "100 Years of Growing Christmas Trees in Indiana County" Celebration
As a final tribute and in conclusion to the year-long celebrations honoring 100 years of growing Christmas trees in Indiana County, The Indiana County Tree Growers' Association placed a fresh evergreen wreath at Silas C. Stream’s gravesite. Streams was the first to plant Norway Spruce trees to be sold during the Christmas season. Soon after, other pioneers in the county followed suit and started planting and selling Christmas trees, laying the foundation that would lead to Indiana County being declared "The Christmas Tree Capital of the World". As President of the Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers' Association, Gregg Van Horn (also ICTB Board President) had the honor of placing the wreath.
Visit From Fort Wayne Bus Group
On behalf of ICTB, Group Tour Coordinator Ashley Moreau welcomed a bus group of 57 tourists from Fort Wayne, Indiana, on October 16 th at the Jimmy Stewart Museum. Later in the day, Chris Collins, a Jimmy Stewart impersonator, entertained the tourists during their lunch at The Rustic Lodge.  “Welcome to Indiana County” bags, compliments of ICTB, which included a group photo taken earlier in the day at the Jimmy Stewart statue, were distributed to everyone.
