TOURNAMENT PERFORMANCES

ACE Burlington’s Andrea Cabio and Bianca Ceroni played captivating doubles to capture the doubles title at the Advantage International ITF Junior Tennis Championships at the Veneto Tennis Centre between October 23rd - 27th.


The unseeded Cabio and Ceroni defeated Elicia Lin and Katherine Zhang in the first round, 6-0, 6-2. They followed with a straight set 6-3, 6-1 victory over Payton Dith and Madeline Valalapudi. Bianca and Andrea then came through a tight semi-final encounter against the second seeds Charlize Celibrini & Abigail Gordon, in which they lost the first set but but fought back to take the third set super tiebreak 4-6, 7-5, 10-4.


In the the final, Cabio and Ceroni served up aggressive tennis to claim the title by defeating the fist seeds Maria Kamar and Jelena Vico 6-4, 6-4.

Ace Burlington’s Simona Stepanovic was in fine form over the weekend as she won the Girls U16 Singles title at the Zelkeman U16 4 Star Tournament in Windsor from November 3- 5th.


Stepanovic who was the second seed, defeated Katherine Krisanov and Candelaria Jaramillo respectively in straight sets the first and second rounds. She followed with a quarterfinal victory over Ace Burlington’s Clara Tiong; while in the semifinal Simona beat the 4th seed Maria Shybanova 7-5, 6-4. In the final Simona defeated the 3rd seed,Bronwyn Duggan 6-4, 6-3 to capture the title!

The Eddie Herr International Junior Championship at IMG Academy welcomes over 2,000 junior tennis players from over 90 countries! This elite tournament attracts the world's most competitive tennis players. 


Both Bianca Ceroni and Clara Tiong from ACE Burlington participated in the prestigious tournament. Bianca breezed through qualification (three rounds) and lost in the main draw. Clara needed more time to adapt to the outdoor play in Florida and unfortunately lost in the qualification, but signed up for the UTR - Universal Tennis Rating -

tournament and finished first place! She spent four matches on court and won against players ranked higher than herself. Head Coach Kirill Kudyma says; "We had a great chance to analyze matches, prepare before each match, and to make conclusions after. The girls worked hard on their mental conditions, and we could see results. We are very happy with the performances!"
