Preteen Kickoff Breakfast

All of Tab's 5th- and 6th-graders are invited to join us for our annual Preteen Kickoff Breakfast on Saturday, September 12. We'll meet at the Lincoln Square Pancake House at 86th and Ditch from 9am until about 10:15am to have breakfast and talk about Preteen events for the upcoming school year. Please let Mrs. Wirt know you're coming so we can reserve a large enough table!

Fall Kick-Off / Invite-A-Friend Sunday

Sunday, September 13th is our Fall Kick-Off/Invite-a-Friend Sunday! We will be kicking off our fall season of children’s, youth, adult, worship, music, media, missions, and community ministries. Since 80% of people who visit a church come because a friend invited them, we encourage you to think, pray, and invite someone you know to come to church with you that morning. We want to share the good news of Christ with everyone and help people experience the joy and hospitality of Tab for themselves. We hope to see you here in person along with whomever you bring with you!

PNC Update

Please be encouraged, a few strong candidates are being asked to join us for next steps, and we continue to meet new candidates. We would be remiss not asking the congregation to prepare mentally for some exciting changes ahead. Nearly every candidate has been encouraged by all of your volunteer efforts to keep the good work of Tab moving forward. Thank you for the prayers and blessings.

Books for Sale! Tab's History Books are Coming Soon!

Tab’s books are here! We’re proud to share both books with all of you. The Church that Stayed recounts the 175-year history of our church and its ministries while Sacred Lights features the 65 stained glass windows that surround us.

We are grateful to all the writers and editors who helped compile our 175 years of history for The Church that Stayed. The archives and files yielded great antidotes and historical information which recall the ministries and service to Tab.

Mark John and Steve Hoffer provided more than 5,000 images for Sacred Lights: The Stained Glass and Architecture of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. It will be a volume to enjoy as you learn more about the historical beauty we enjoy. Books will be on sale for $25 each or $40 for both editions.

MKNA Annual Home Tour

MKNA’s annual home tour will take place September 25-27 this year. Don’t miss the beauty of our neighborhood and support MKNA’s tour. 50th Annual Deacons' Golf Classic

Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church's 50th Annual Tab Golf Classic October 10, from 8am-1pm. It's way different this year, and we want you to be there! This year we are having a special welcome homecoming to all Tab Rec alumni, a 9 Hole option and a Group hike in the park with a buffet lunch together. As we try to welcome all former teammates from Tab, please extend an invitation to reconnect with anyone you know who used to play here. Every registration will bring us closer to achieving our mission to support the benevolent fund and also fund scholarships for kids in our neighborhood. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for our neighbors and members. Thank you for supporting our mission; your support is invaluable.

The "Lord's Prayer" Through Middle Eastern Eyes

How might we hear the Lord’s Prayer differently when we attempt to hear it as Jesus’ first listeners did? In this class we will explore the Lord’s Prayer primarily through insights from the book Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes, by Kenneth E. Bailey. Bailey shows how Jesus’ teaching reflects the language, culture, and rhetorical patterns of the first-century Middle East, revealing a powerful structure centered on God’s holiness, kingdom, and daily provision for the community. Together we will consider how Jesus brings the sovereignty of God into relationship with our freedom and responsibility. We will reflect on themes such as our daily bread and needs, giving and receiving forgiveness, and Jesus’ very personal address for us to God as “My Father/Our Father” in ways that defy any suggestion of oppressive patriarchy. All are welcome!
