HOUSING AUTHORITY AWARDED
"PROJECT OF THE YEAR RECOGNITION"
The USDA Wisconsin State Director has presented the St. Germain Housing Authority with a plaque declaring the Housing Authority's recent building renovations as a 2019 "Project of the Year", helping to "build the community and improve the quality of life for residents of rural Wisconsin".
The project offers low income housing for the elderly and disabled in 36 one and two bedroom apartments in three buildings on Sunrise Lane. The buildings range from 27 to 33 years in age. Operation of the facility is provided by A&M Property Managers of Crandon, WI. Complete interior and exterior building renovations were recently completed under the coordination of A&M with only minimal disturbance of the residents. Oversight of the work was provided by the Housing Authority Board of Directors.
The Housing Authority is not a function of St. Germain government, however the town board designates an individual to serve as a liaison between the Town and the Housing Authority's Board of Directors.
