OLLI Wants You!
to facilitate a May Conversation
OLLI is looking for a member to facilitate the May Conversation Connection. "Con-Con" is a small group conversation among OLLI members on a topic of mutual interest, and it's an easy way to to get to know other members. The topic is chosen by the facilitator, and the gathering may be held at any of a number of available locations that we have found or chosen by the facilitator. (Private homes are not recommended.) Con-Cons usually last from 1 1/2 to 2 hours and are a very enjoyable time for all. Facilitators don’t have to lead but are there as friendly hosts.

If you have a topic that you would like to discuss, and would like to connect with other members and meet new friends, email Rob Joseph at  [email protected] or call 541-292-4484. The May Con-Con can be any time during the month.
Inside OLLI
Here's your chance to learn about OLLI and make connections with other members. Inside OLLI will provide you with information on the organization:
  • Who's who in our OLLI?
  • What’s What?
And this is an opportunity to meet other great OLLI members in a relaxed atmosphere. This presentation is open to all OLLI members. Both new and experienced members will all get a chance to see what it really means to "Stay for the Connections." Hope to see you in Medford on May 8 at 11:00 in Room 321 at the Higher Education Center, or in Ashland on May 9 at 11:00 in Room A . Honoring OLLI's Past Presidents
This week we honor Rich Kaplan (2010-2011). Rich taught ethics and was curriculum committee chair before joining the Council. During his Council tenure, there was concern that OLLI should not grow too fast and outstrip its resources. Two key challenges were supporting new instructors and adjusting to a variety of teaching materials and technology. But during Rich’s tenure the number of courses offered increased to accommodate membership growth and varied interests. At the same time, OLLI established one-credit courses, accepted by SOU, that gave OLLI students use of the HEC and the Hannon Library. Click here for a link to the video interview with Rich.
Registration forms are due Tuesday, April 23, at 4 pm.
Enroll for One Credit in OLLI Courses

Registration in a one credit course entitles you to use of the SOU Hannon Library for the duration of the term, and it benefits SOU, OLLI and OLLI instructors, too. If you are 65 or older and have been a resident of Oregon for at least a year, and are registered in an OLLI class approved by SOU for one credit, you qualify. Approved courses are listed on the back of the purple registration forms that are available in Campbell Center offices and classrooms, and at the HEC in Medford, or you may  click here  to download the form (PDF) and the list of approved courses.
