COVID-19 Business Recovery Town Hall

Join us for a virtual Town Hall meeting with local MPP Lisa Thompson and Prabmeet Sarkaria, Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction, on Wednesday, May 20th at 1 pm.

The Municipality of Brockton and the Walkerton BIA are delighted to host these cabinet ministers to discuss business recovery measures and address any questions you may have as our economy beg ins to re-open.

Registration is required, along with completion of a short questionnaire that will be used to help guide our discussion.

The town hall will be moderated by Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody, and focus on the following topics:

  • Impact of COVID-19
  • Crisis response measures
  • Transitional and post-emergency measures
  • Recovery measures and expectations

About Our Speakers

Lisa Thompson
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson currently serves as Minister of Government and Consumer Services and Registrar General. She also sits on the Legislation and Regulations Committee, and the Economic and Resource Policy Committee. In addition to her parliamentary roles, Lisa serves as Vice Chair for Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians—Canada Region. As MPP one of her goals is to ensure rural Ontario and the agri-food sector are well represented. She lives on a farm near Teeswater.
Prabmeet Sarkaria
Brampton South MPP Prabmeet Sarkaria is the Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing and watching hockey, basketball, baseball, and football. Prabmeet is an active volunteer who's served on the City of Brampton’s Property Standards Committee as well as the Board of Directors for Hockey for Humanity and KarmaGrow.
