Dear Skillman Church family,
We hope you’ve had a great week. Good progress has been made on the details of an agreement for Skillman to join The Hills Church of Christ. A lot of information is found below, so look for major topic headings.
Terms of Agreement with The Hills. We are in dialogue regarding specific terms for continuation and improvements to our Acapella Services in the Chapel, full support of the Child Development Center, full-time staffing at our Skillman location, honoring terms of the Moeller and Johnson funds, continuation of our domestic and international mission efforts, and other important property, program and service issues. We look forward to providing a detailed update in our upcoming “Town Hall” meeting next Wednesday night. Here are the details on that event:
Town Hall Agenda and Guidelines. All Skillman members are encouraged to attend this important meeting in the Chapel at 3014 Skillman St. in Dallas on April 27, 2022 at 6:30pm. Jon Mullican of Hope Network Ministries will return as our meeting facilitator. He is gifted in facilitating authentic, open dialogue that allows people to be heard and understood. The current agenda will be:

Here are guidelines we will follow for this meeting:
- Any form of presentation must be submitted to the church office no later than Tuesday, April 26 at 2pm.

Questions should be submitted in writing to an Elder or the facilitator before or during the Town Hall. Cards will be available for this purpose at the meeting, or email to elders@skillmanchurch.org.
- Statements may be made from an available microphone up to two minutes in length, as timed by the facilitator. Participants will speak only when recognized by the facilitator.
- This meeting will be recorded and made available within 24 hours after the meeting to any Skillman member upon request in the church office.
- Participants will listen and speak respectfully to all other participants.
Voting Process. Here’s some important information regarding the Skillman member vote planned for May 15 on whether to move forward in joining The Hills:

As mentioned in our email last Friday, the May 15th date could change if needed to comply with Skillman’s governing documents and/or Texas law.
- The Skillman Elders will soon certify the member list for purposes of voting on a proposal to join The Hills.
- The member list will be open to inspection and comment at the church office.
- Voting will be conducted in person on May 15, and will also be allowed by mail prior to that date. Votes will be cast in secret and remain confidential.
- Full details on the voting time and place, exactly what we are voting on, the ballot wording, and other fair voting and vote counting procedures are being developed now in consultation with highly-respected, independent elections and voting experts.
- It is important that all Skillman members vote.
Worship at The Hills this Sunday. All Skillman members are encouraged to join us in visiting The Hills 10am worship service this Sunday, April 24. Please let the Skillman church office know if you can attend and whether you can join us for lunch afterwards. For those unable to attend church at The Hills, a Skillman worship service will be available on our church’s YouTube page.
For those who have reserved a seat on the Skillman van, please arrive at 8:30am for an 8:45am departure. Immediately after the worship service, we will tour The Hills facility, enjoy a light lunch, then depart at 12:30pm back to Skillman. Those driving their own car are encouraged to use visitor parking. We will each sit in the main worship center wherever we choose, then meet in the lobby after service.
