Grants are one-time allocations per applicant and are based on available funding. Our Social Services Department is collaborating with the Youth Services Bureau to identify eligible young adults. Applications are open, with assistance distributed on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. Please feel free to encourage young adults to contact Social Services at 860-285-1839 for additional information and applications.

To accommodate the project, various offices and program spaces will be shifted around the building or to offsite locations. Senior Services administrative offices will remain at LP Wilson, with Senior Services programming operating out of the cafeteria area. Several Senior Services programs will be temporarily moved to the Mount Zion Redemption Church located across the street on Matianuck Avenue. Some recreation programs will be relocated to other town facilities such as 330 Windsor Ave Community Center and Northwest Park.

Stormwater Drainage Repair - Pierson Lane

A few weeks ago, a sink hole developed on Pierson Lane between the Palisado Cemetery and the railroad tracks. DPW made initial repairs so the roadway is safe and open to traffic. A vendor has completed a video inspection of the drainage pipe/culvert that runs under the road.  The culvert is over 100 feet in length and carries the small brook which runs under the road and ultimately to the Farmington River. The full inspection report should be completed in the few weeks and we will use the report to develop a repair or replacement plan.

Passing of Domenic Albano Sr.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of Domenic ‘Dom’ Albano Sr. who recently passed away. He was a longtime Windsor resident and devoted community volunteer and leader. Dom gave back to the community in many ways including being an active member of the Windsor Exchange Club, a long-term member of the Republican Town Committee, holding a seat on the Town Planning and Zoning Commission, being elected to the Town Council for two terms and also serving as a Town Treasurer for several years.
