Paradise Valley Seeks Residents for

Volunteer Committee Service

The Town of Paradise Valley invites residents to contribute their time and expertise by serving on one of the Town’s volunteer committees, commissions, or boards. The application filing period for the 2026 appointment cycle has been extended to March 20, 2026

In addition to previously advertised vacancies on the Advisory Committee Public Safety, Paradise Valley Mountain Preserve Trust, and PV Arts Board, the Town is also accepting applications from interested residents to serve on other committees.

Volunteer responsibilities include reviewing land-use applications and variances, organizing public art programs, preserving the Town’s history, promoting public safety initiatives and resources, and providing other essential support to the Town administration.

A complete list of committees, their descriptions, time commitments, and recent activities may be viewed on the Town’s website.

Applications  may be submitted online. Alternatively, applicants may submit a resume and cover letter to the Town Clerk's Office, 6401 E. Lincoln Drive.  To be considered for the 2026 appointment cycle, applications must be received by March 20th.  All applications will receive full consideration. Applicants not selected will be retained in a candidate pool to fill vacancies that may arise during the year.

You are welcome to indicate a committee preference on the application, but it is not required. In early April, candidates will have an opportunity to meet with the Town Council to discuss their background, skills, and interests to help identify a mutually agreeable placement that aligns with Town needs.

By volunteering, you will join a longstanding tradition of civic engagement in Paradise Valley and contribute meaningfully to the preservation and enhancement of the Town.

AZ Child Abduction Response Team (AZCART) Activation

Pictured above: Amanda Jeffs – Property & Evidence Tech, Sierra Ford and Kylee Vold – Police Record Specialists

Paradise Valley Police Department responded in our role as the AZCART State Coordinating Agency to assist the Avondale Police Department. The call-out initiated a full AZCART activation, bringing together significant regional resources to support what was a time-critical child abduction investigation.

PVPD mobilized personnel across multiple divisions including Records, Dispatch, Criminal Investigations (CIU), TRACE, Patrol, and Administration. Our team established and managed the AZCART Command Post operation, which was located in Avondale on Saturday and transitioned to the Town of Maricopa on Sunday as investigative efforts evolved.

AZCART hosted and coordinated investigators and specialty resources from:

  • Phoenix Police Department
  • Scottsdale Police Department
  • Gilbert Police Department
  • Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office
  • United States Marshals Service
  • FBI CARD
  • Queen Creek Police Department
  • OCWI/DCS
  • Arizona Department of Corrections – Perryville (bloodhounds)

Through coordinated investigative efforts, rapid interagency collaboration, and the engagement of citizen observers following the AMBER Alert broadcast, the abducted 3-year-old child was safely recovered in Phoenix early Sunday morning.

PVPD personnel directly involved in the deployment included:

Patrick Beumler

Derek Hoelscher

Bryan Marshall

Mike Toporek

Amanda Jeffs

Kylee Vold

Sierra Ford

Brian Ong

Robert Clement

Heather Beckwith

Vanessa Stedman

Andrea Ford

Joseph DiVenti

This activation demonstrated PVPD’s leadership role at the state level and our ability to rapidly coordinate complex, multi-agency operations in high-risk child abduction cases. I am proud of the professionalism and commitment displayed by our team and our regional partners.

The winning names were Dust Bucket, submitted by Landon Tulk, and The Sweepanator submitted by Nora Holt. The students were also surprised by their famlies who were there for the announcement and unveiling of the names.
