This year, the Beach Day Committee are excited to be back in full swing and have prepared a fantastic day of free family fun!

The day provides lots of activities, a main stage for live music, plus a variety of games, entertainment and food.

• 12:15 pm - Qualicum Beach Pipe Band
• 12:30 pm - Rainbow Stew Cloggers
• 1pm - Black Moon Valley Band
• 3pm - Belly Laughs Dancers

Qualicum Beach Day offers a focus on environmental awareness and happens on the grassy area along the waterfront. Low tide is at approximately 1:30 pm to allow us room to enjoy the sand.

Have you seen the mobi-mat out for its summer season?

The mat provides an 83-foot-long non-slip surface that allows access past the rocks and onto the hard-packed sand of our iconic waterfront.

During the summer months, the mat will be located next to the Shores Cafe and allows those with mobility issues to access the water with greater ease.

The 2022 Election will be held on October 15, 2022.

Every Thursday evening in July and August come out and enjoy a truly local street market with a variety of vendors and attractions. 

This market happens weekly on Thursday nights from 6-9 pm on Second Avenue West, between Memorial Avenue and Primrose Street.

The Town is seeking applicants for the following positions:

• ​ Labourer Trainee / Custodians - applications close July 12.
• ​Technology Support Technician - applications close July 22.
• Office Assistant - applications close July 29.
• Building and Facilities Coordinator - receiving applications until the position is filled.

This week crews started on the replacement and installation of 38 accessible parking symbols.

The deteriorating painted symbols will be ground off and in the coming weeks, weather permitting, they will be restored with an ultradurable methyl methacrylate paint.

Temporary signs will be placed at each stall while the accessible symbols are missing.

Several crosswalks across town were ground down and are in the process of being refinished, including:

• Sunrise Drive at Bennett Road
• Chartwell Boulevard at Sunrise Drive
• Berwick Road North at Veteran’s Way
• First Avenue West at Primrose Street
• Village Way at Qualicum Road
• Ravensong pool parking lot
• Qualicum Road at Fern Road East

Our spectacular new carved bench has been placed in its new home in East Village, and provides a striking art piece as well as enhances the gathering area.

The bench was created by carvers Jerry Strelioff, Shea Larking and Mandy Chalmers during the ‘Out of the Woods 2021’ event, located at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 and hosted by the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce. The bench was sponsored by the Legion and donated to the Town.

It's a great place to rest and take a photo ... ​​​ First photos were with Mayor Brian Wiese and Councillor Teunis Westbroek at the installation on Friday, June 17.

It is the season where bears are foraging for food. This makes it high risk for bears to forage in your garbage.

Please ensure that you:

• Place your garbage out as close as possible to collection time.
• Store your garbage cans in an animal resistant container / building to prevent foraging. It only takes one time to condition a bear to human garbage.
• Remove other attractants, such as uncleaned barbeques, bird feeders, pet food, and fruit on trees (or fallen on the ground).

From May 15th until September 15th the watering of lawns and gardens will only be permitted between the hours of 7pm and 7am daily.

Hand watering is permitted at any time.
