Community events were next level in 2024! Beach Day and Family Day saw record-breaking turnouts, as did Show ‘n Shine. We wrapped up the year by celebrating our volunteers at the annual Volunteer Appreciation event in November. Thank you to everyone who made 2024 a memorable year in Qualicum Beach! | |
Held on the last Sunday of May, Family Day included a pancake breakfast at the Civic Centre, a street parade down Second Avenue, and an afternoon of activities, entertainment, and food at the Community Playing Field. The day then wrapped up with a free swim at Ravensong. View photos. | |

The Town's Volunteer Appreciation Reception was an opportunity to thank the many volunteers who contribute to the community’s well-being.
This year Council made two very special acknowledgements. Not only was the Above & Beyond award presented to the volunteer powerhouse Tom Whitfield, but a special recognition was also presented to Len and Marie Mustard for 25 years’ service as Town Criers. Read more.

Waterfront Viewing Platform & Walkway
The Beach Creek Separated Walkway & Viewing Platform project has made the waterfront a safe, accessible, and enjoyable public space!

Memorial Artwork
A stunning artwork centrepiece was installed at the Waterfront Memorial Roundabout, designed by Jesse Recalma, a Qualicum First Nation artist.

Culvert Replacement
The Beach Creek Culvert Replacement project means that Beach Creek and Crescent Road East are well-prepared to serve and protect our community for years to come.

Bay St Stabilization
The Bay Street project stabilized the road, protecting surrounding properties, as well as the sanitary sewer line that serves over 300 homes.

Three open meetings were held to address challenges and opportunities for the Airport. The Good Neighbour Program also launched in 2024 to help mitigate noise impacts.

Following a workshop, survey, and a public input meeting the Bus Garage Final Report was completed with a conceptual design, parkade layout, costing, and Mobility Study.

An open house , information “pop-up”, and public survey all helped develop a Wildfire Resiliency Plan to mitigate wildfire risk in the community.
