Eaglecrest Golf Course Reconfiguration and Opening

The Eaglecrest Golf Course reconfiguration is well underway, and the Town is excited to advise that the Course will reopen to the public in Spring 2027.

The updated Golf Course will operate as a par 35, creating a regulation 9-hole Course that will allow golfers to maintain official handicaps and participate in organized competitions. The reconfiguration will improve safety, playability, and long-term operational sustainability, while preserving the character and quality of the Course.

The reconfiguration work includes reshaping existing fairways, creating new greens, expanding the pond and upgrading irrigation infrastructure. The layout was informed by input from Course users and professional golf course designers. Construction is being undertaken by a Vancouver Island company, Grass Roots Enterprises.

Reconfiguration of the Course is now anticipated to be completed in early August. However, the new turfgrass requires sufficient time to mature through the fall and early spring to reduce the risk of damage, improve long-term Course conditions, and avoid costly repairs, future closures, and turfgrass degradation.

In Memory of Len Mustard

The Town is saddened by the passing of Len Mustard, its beloved Town Crier of 26 years.

Through his dedication, enthusiasm, and unmistakable voice, Len helped bring people together and contributed to the traditions and spirit of our community. Beyond his ceremonial role, Len was known for his warmth, humour, and genuine kindness.

Alongside his wife Marie, he made a lasting contribution to community life and will be fondly remembered by many. In recognition of his years of service, Len’s portrait hangs in the Council Chamber gallery at Town Hall, where it will continue to honour his memory.
