Family Day - May 25

Mark your calendars for a day of fun, celebration, and community spirit, Sunday, May 25!

The Family Day festivities kick off with a pancake breakfast at 8:30 am at the Civic Centre, followed by a lively street parade down Second Avenue at noon.

From 1-4 pm, the action moves to the Community Park, where all ages can enjoy a wide range of activities, food, and entertainment. Highlights of this year’s event include a skydive exhibition, Live Action Role-Playing (LARP), dog agility, and Seaside Cruisers collection.

Kids will love the 13 bounce houses, scavenger hunt, face painting, and abundant activities found at each exhibit. The main stage will be buzzing with all-day performances by talented local artists and community groups. The festivities will come to a close with a free swim from 4-7 pm at Ravensong Aquatic Centre.

You won't want to miss this annual community highlight. See you there!

Share Local Knowledge for Evacuation Routes

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN), City of Parksville and Town of Qualicum Beach are working together to develop an evacuation route plan for RDN Electoral Area G (Englishman River, San Pareil, French Creek, Little Qualicum and Dashwood), the City and the Town.

Identifying local knowledge of hazards and potential evacuation barriers is vital to effective route planning. As part of the planning process, impacted and affected residents and groups are invited to provide their input through a survey until May 31, 2025. The feedback gathered will be used to help create a practical and effective evacuation plan.
