Qualicum Beach’s streets now have a fresh new look, with colourful street banners showcasing 10 artworks that celebrate the town's unique charm, natural landscape and culture.
The Street Banner Artists Program began with an open call in December 2025, attracting more than 100 submissions from artists across Vancouver Island. The selected artwork was officially unveiled at a community event in May, showcasing the talents of six artists with connections to Qualicum Beach. The featured artists are Nixon Godberson, Daniel Francis Gray, Marion-Lea Jamieson, Angie Ooms, Sylvie Peltier and Susan Schaefer.
Installation was originally planned for earlier in the season but was delayed by production challenges with the banners and new mounting arms. With those issues resolved, the artwork is now on display in the commercial core, in time for them to complement the Town’s signature flower baskets.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to look for all 10 artworks as they make their way around town, as well as share photos on social media, tagging the Town or using the hashtag #TownofQualicumBeach.
