Kensington Town Hall on Local Governance
Supervisor Gioia among panelists at community meeting Sunday, May 3
I hope you'll join me tomorrow at a community discussion on Kensington issues with a  focus on governance options for local services such as police, fire and parks.

The meeting, which will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 3 at the Kensington Community Center, 59 Arlington Blvd., is sponsored by the Kensington Property Owners Association (KPOA).

Expert speakers include:
  • Lou Ann Texeira, Executive Officer, Contra Costa Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), the agency which oversees the formation of special districts such as the Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District (KPPCSD) and the Kensington Fire Protection District (KFPD).
  • Connie Jackson, City Manager, San Bruno, who will discuss shared police services on the peninsula.
This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q & A. I'm honored to serve on the panel with Lou Ann Texeira; Connie Jackson;  Len Welsh, KPPCSD president; and  Larry Nagel, KFPD president.

Gail Feldman, KPOA president, will facilitate. The meeting will end with a reception with refreshments.
