BuyBedford - New Shop Local Initiative!
The Town of Bedford, in coordination with our business partners, is launching a new marketing campaign to support our local businesses during the pandemic. As winter approaches, it is more important than ever to support our small businesses by spending our dollars in Town when possible. This initiative will help our small and independent businesses and minimize the financial impact to our local economy. Please support our local businesses when you’re thinking of making a purchase, whether it’s a holiday gift, a gift card, a haircut, or take out.

For further details on the program, visit our website at www.buybedford.org. Remember us on social media when you shop locally by using the tag #buybedford!

If you would like a BuyBedford lawn sign to place outside of your business, please contact Alyssa Sandoval at asandoval@bedfordma.gov.
Ultragenyx Plans Major New Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility in Bedford
Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel products for rare and ultra-rare genetic diseases, announced its plans to build a new large-scale manufacturing facility in Bedford, to support the company’s pipeline of gene therapies.

The company recently broke ground on Phase 1 of the 100,000-square-foot facility at 170 Middlesex Turnpike in Bedford. The facility is expected to be complete by 2023, and will employ over 100 new full-time positions. Phase II of the facility allows for 86,000 square feet of additional expansion onsite.

“We are thrilled that Ultragenyx chose Bedford as the location of its new state-of-the-art bio-manufacturing facility, which further strengthens Bedford’s life science cluster,” said Sarah Stanton, Bedford Town Manager. “We appreciate Ultragenyx’s significant investment in our community bringing jobs and economic benefits to Bedford and the region, and look forward to a long-term partnership with Ultragenyx.”
