The Boonton Farmers' Market will shift locations to the Senior Center parking lot at 124 North Main Street due to the Labor Day Parade.
In Observance of Labor Day, Town Hall and the Recycling Center will be Closed.

Garbage collection is rescheduled for Tuesday, September 5th.

Ordinance 26-2005 states using a public container for anything other than pedestrian-generated trash, including but not limited to household or commercially generated trash, is prohibited. Please do not place household garbage in public garbage containers.

New Laws for Lead-based Paint
Landlords Guide to NJ’s Lead Safe Certification
 New Jersey’s newest lead-based paint law, “New Jersey’s Lead-Safe Certification,” goes into effect July 22, 2022, and directly targets ALL pre-1978 rental properties. In addition to new lead paint inspection intervals.
What Landlords Need to Know
Effective July 22, 2022, New Jersey requires lead paint inspections (visual only for Boonton) for all targeted rental units, or by July 24, 2024, if there is no tenant turnover. Find details on the Town website here.

Jules Showing by Boonton Recreation Department
We will be screening “Jules” the movie at Boonton Town Hall where the movie was filmed. This will be outdoors in the parking lot, so bring your chairs and snacks and spend an evening with the community watching our small town on the big screen. It won’t be dark enough that early??? No worries ……we are bringing in an LED screen so it can still be light out and we will be able to see crystal clear.
The movie is free to attend and reservations are not required.

Adult Pickleball Lessons
Wednesdays October 11th – November 8th at John Hill School. This program is good for all skill levels.  Must be 18+ Go to Boonton.RecDesk.com to register
 
Youth Pickleball Lessons

Youth Volleyball Clinics
2 sessions are available starting in September.  Classes are open to grades 3,4 & 5 and 6,7 & 8.  For all details and to register, please go to Boonton.RecDesk.com
 
Fall Festival at Pepe Field
Thursday, October 5th  at 5 pm. Join us for a Fall-tastic evening as we host our 2nd annual Scarecrow Build-off followed by an outdoor movie. We will start off with our scarecrow build-off featuring live entertainment from Tony Caggiano.  After the judging, we will be co-sponsoring an outdoor viewing of “The Addams Family” movie with PBA #212. We will have a food truck or two on-site for you to purchase some food, but feel free to bring your coolers and movie snacks.  You will need to bring your own chairs and/or blankets to sit on.  The movie will be shown on the field at 7:30 pm. Registration is required for the Scarecrow event. Go to Boonton.RecDesk.com to sign up.  The movie is free and no registration is required. No pets will be permitted.
 
Creating with Clay
Adult therapeutic clay class for ages 21+. Our next class will be September 18th at 10 am at the Senior Center. Please register by calling Tracy Pryer, Recreation Director, at
973-402-9410 x 642.  Spaces are limited.
 
SEAS Sailing Club
Both beginner and intermediate classes are available throughout September.  Classes are a mix of virtual as well as in in-person. For more info and to register go to Boonton.RecDesk.com
 
Indoor Tennis and Fitness program
Classes are offered for ages 5-12 as well as adults. Please call Don or Mitch at 973-335-6200 and the forms are available on www.Boonton.org under the Recreation tab.  
 
Yoga with Erika Sherger
Payment for classes is through RecDesk only.  Please go to Boonton.RecDesk.com and click on the Yoga Memberships are now available for purchase! The class schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7 p.m. at the Senior Center and will be outside weather permitting for the fall.
 
PSAT Review Classes
In-person or Virtual classes are available.  Go to www.LentzSATPrep.com and register under Boonton for the discounted rate.
 
Boonton Bookfest 2023
November 4th  Planning is underway……Website reveal will be shortly. In the meantime, buy your Boonton Bookfest tote bag or Limited Edition tumbler to help support the Bookfest. Please contact Tpryer@boonton.org to purchase.
 
Boonton Day
September 24th.  Main Street from 12 noon - 4 pm. A day filled with vendors and food trucks galore!!! Make sure to stop by the Recreation booth, say hi to our committee members, and see all our rec department has to offer! We will be offering free temporary tattoos, games with prizes, giveaways, and selling Bookfest merch.  
 
Boonton Day Vendor Spaces
We still have some Boonton Day Vendor Spaces available.  You must register for your space by using RecDesk.  Go to Boonton.RecDesk.com and sign up as a vendor.  Please make sure to complete the checkout process or your registration will not go through.  You will receive an email confirmation if you have completed registration properly.  Please Note: Even if you are a business located on Main Street, you need to register if you want to participate.

Congratulations to the Boonton Police Department
At the August 14th Town Council meeting, Officer In Charge, Christorpher Petonak, was sworn in as Captain, along with Sargeant Joseph Bolcar, Sergeant Leo Colombo, and Sargeant Karl Mangino, all recently promoted to Sargeant. The Town of Boonton’s newest Police Officers and those recently promoted officially took their Public Oath of Office. Congratulations to Boonton Police Department and these officers.
