Mayor Briggs Speaks on the Importance of Responding to the Census.
Have you completed the census?
It's fast and easy! Just go to . It doesn't matter if you own or rent, everyone needs to respond. It's about shaping the future of Town of Emmitsburg, Frederick County and the State of Maryland. The results are used to determine how much funding local communities receive for key public services and how many seats each state gets in Congress. State and local officials also use census counts to draw boundaries for congressional, state legislative, and school districts.

REMEMBER! If you send in your confirmation of completion you can enter to win a new iPad! Email a screenshot to for entry! The drawing will be held once the deadline for responding to the census has passed.
With the support of Jubilee Foods the Vigilant Hose Company was able to serve over 350 complimentary meals to the community on Easter Sunday. Emmitsburg is one strong and resilient community. Commissioners Burns & Davis even made deliveries to those who couldn’t head out!
Thank you to all those who participated in the Light of Hope event held on Saturday April 18. All over town residents stepped out onto their porches and sidewalks with lights and candles as DJ Fire came through playing music. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all.
