February 2022 Edition
Clinician Kallie Montagano
On January 19, 2022 the Franklin Police Department and Town Council recognized the work and said goodbye to our Advocates Mental Health Clinician, Kallie Montagano. Kallie was hired as the department’s first mental health clinician through the Advocates Jail Diversion Program. Kallie joined the FPD in early 2019. Working directly alongside officers, Kallie was responsible for diverting people suffering from mental illnesses away from arrests and the criminal justice system and towards psychiatric and mental health treatment. Kallie has been an invaluable asset to the department and a great friend to everyone. Kallie is staying with Advocates and will be starting a new position as the Co-Response Training and Technical Assistance Center Manager. We wish Kallie nothing but the best in her new position! The FPD will be hiring a new clinician to fill Kallie’s role.

Cops for Kids with Cancer
This past November and December, the FPD participated in our annual No Shave
November & December fundraiser. To set aside our grooming standards each officer
made a donation for each month they participated. Our November funds totaling $1640
were donated to the amazing organization, Cops For Kids With Cancer. For the last 6
years Cops for Kids with Cancer has assisted Franklin families during their children’s
cancer battles. In addition to the department’s donation, Cops for Kids with Cancer also
presented a Franklin family with a $5000 check to help assist with medical expenses.
